This [under construction] blog is simply a log of my days spent living in a small shack in the bush. I hope to make some aesthetic changes to the site, and of course the content will be ever-changing. Meanwhile, here it is.

Glad you like it, sporadically-updated as it is. I think I may continue it into summer even though the shack thing ended in winter, and shift the focus more to bushcraft, wild edibles, and other things of interest.
Thought that I would drop you a note. Brooke sent me your blog and I think it is great. I don’t think we ever met but I’m the guy that built and lived in the shack. Good to hear the shack is getting some use. It’s fun to hear about your adventure.
A cool story is that I had 2 dogs living with me out at the shack and one morning while doing chores I looked up to see the young dog playing with several wolves. They were about 15 feet away from me. The young dog continued to play with them for a time then left as they had a good look at me. The one she plaid with the most was a silver color and we saw that wolf many other times but always in the distance. The pack was about 5 at that time.
Your great adventure has begun. The “shack” looks beautiful with the new snow. I look forward to reading your entries to follow what you’re discovering about the world around you and about yourself. Grandpa
I really adore your blog. It has inspired me to write my own for my upcoming lifestyle changing adventures!
Cheers,
Ashley

Aha! Great to hear from you Pete. I was curious what you would think of all the new goings-on at your High Lake Hacienda.
